It is a committee concerned with reviewing regulations and policies in the GCC states and examining the possibility of introducing new policies or developing existing ones.
It has several committees, which are:
- Quality and patient safety.
- Health Research.
- Occupational and environmental health.
- Electronic health and information systems.
- Health personnel.
- Finance and health economics.

Gulf Committee for Communicable Diseases "infectious"
It is infectious diseases that are transmitted to other people, either through physical contact or through contact with secretions or through the air.
It has several sub-committees which are
- Extended immunization and vaccination-targeted diseases (especially measles, rubella, and polio).
- Preparedness, surveillance, and response.
- Combating tuberculosis and respiratory diseases.
- Infection control and antibiotic resistance.
- Combating AIDS, hepatitis, and sexually transmitted diseases.
- Combating common and vector-borne diseases.
Function of the Committee
- Periodic Evaluation of progress made in the implementation of the endorsed plan.
- Coping with the recent updates in the World.
- Follow up of WHO resolutions and recommendations and consequent development of the Gulf plan.
- Coping with scientific updates in the field to be guided in improving the performance.
- Coping with and studying related health issues and assessing their appropriateness to and impact on the Gulf community, most recent is (Combatting Children and Youth Obesity).

Gulf Committee for Noncommunicable Diseases "Non-communicable"
Noncommunicable diseases are non-communicable diseases that are not transmissible from one person to another. These diseases can be chronic or acute and most of them are not contagious. Globally, non-communicable diseases are the main cause of death.
It has several committees, which are:
- Diabetes Control.
- Fight against cancer.
- Fight against cardiovascular diseases.
- Combating chronic respiratory diseases.
- Psychological health.
- Tobacco control.
- Health promotion.

Primary health care ensures that people receive comprehensive care, ranging from counseling and prevention to treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care as close as possible to people’s everyday environment.
It has several Committees, which are:
- Universal health coverage.
- School health and adolescent health and youth.
- The mouth and teeth’s health.
- Women and Child Health.
- Take care of the elderly.
